Vehicle is inspected and data is entered into an estimate computer system.
The estimate is the document that shows the estimated cost of repairs and parts. There may be hidden damage
that can not be determined until vehicle disassembly.
If the repair is to be paid by insurance they will be called to review the
damage and the estimate. There may be some negotiations on the price and repair procedures. If the vehicle is not
a total loss the vehicle begins the repair process.
During the disassembly procedure other damage may be determined. If the repair is an insurance claim a supplement will be sent to
the insurance company for review and/or re-inspection. If additional parts are needed they will also be noted here.
Parts are ordered and availability is checked. Once all the structural parts and external
paintable parts are received the
vehicle repair process will begin. Other parts that are not essential to the repair or paint process are saved for reassembly.
The frame and/or unibody is straightened back to factory specifications. Inner panels that
need replacement are cut out and welded into place. Measurements are taken to ensure the vehicles inner structure is
back to factory alignment specification.
The body technicians replace and repair exterior panels, and all metal protective
finishing is completed. The vehicle begins to take a familiar shape as sheet metal is installed and aligned. From here
the vehicle will go to preparation for paint.
Before a panel can be painted it must first be sanded, primed, and sealed to ensure good
adhesion when the final base coat color and clear coats are applied. Generally three coats of base coat color and three coats
of clear coat are applied at a minimum.
All parts are reassembled back on the vehicle. Final mouldings, emblems, antennas, among other
misc parts are reattached. All the vehicle systems are checked during this process. The vehicle is almost complete and ready for
delivery when at this step.
During the repair process the vehicle may accumulate dust from the repairs. Now is the time to
clean it up buy dusting, vacuuming, and washing. The vehicle will be checked again to assure the vehicle has been restored to it's
pre-accident condition.
Delivery is the last step in the repair process. The bill is explained and the final paper
work is completed. Finally, the customer drives away in the vehicle that has been restored seamlessly to it's
pre-accident condition.
